I have been going strong in my intern for over a few months.
I really enjoy everyone at PSI. Everyone is so nice and helpful. My boss is
especially awesome! I really believe what makes a job great is your boss. I
truly think that your boss makes a job enjoyable. I have been very lucky to have a boss that is
so down to earth, knowledgeable, and understanding. He has made my experience
awesome! I really look forward to going into work. He makes me take a whole new
pride in the company. I’m not sure if having a boss like him is a good thing or
a bad thing. I know it is a good thing, because I am learning so much from him
and he is everything you wished a boss would be. On the other hand, it is
possibly bad because he may have spoiled me when it comes to having a boss. I
don’t know if I will be so lucky to have a boss like him in my career to come.
It is really something else to have a cool and down to earth boss. I have had many jobs in the past where my boss was a complete.... strict person. The law firm I am interning at has some of the coolest bosses as well. I definitely enjoy work a lot more knowing they are helpful and nice. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYou are very lucky to have had such a great boss that has mentored you and helped develop your skills. That's very important in an internship. As far as ruining you, I think its always hit or miss with bosses and its up to us to adapt to their leadership style.
ReplyDeleteMike,
ReplyDeleteI certainly agree with you that a boss can make or break a job. My current boss is also amiable and helpful and it is night and day compared to my previous job, which was not entirely different than "Office Space". I'd say that having a boss like that is certainly a good thing--it shows you that not all bosses are aloof, unfriendly, or otherwise not enjoyable to be around. No doubt, like almost everyone, you'll have a less than stellar boss at some point in your career. Just keep your current employer in mind and use them as the gold standard!
