#14

I just finished spending the morning taking my ACI test for my internship. The test was at ASU Tempe campus, the familiarity gave me a sense of comfort which helped me ease the stress and pressure of the test. I was scheduled to get to the testing area at 6:00 am, but I got there at 5:45 am to review before the test, but I went to the office at 5:15 am to meet with three other co-workers that were taking the ACI test too. We quickly reviewed and quizzed each other for 20 minutes. Their were about 30 people there including my co-workers, they both have taken the test once before. The ACI has to be taken every 5 years.

The first two hours were spent with the instructors going over the hands on performance of the test. The hands on test consists of seven different test that have to be performed. Each test has about 15 to 20 steps that have to be executed exactly. You only get one retake for all the test. This makes the tests very hard. The written test is by no means easy, but it is a lot less stressful then the hands on performance test. At 8:00 am I opted to take the hands on performance test first. I managed to make it through the hands on test in about two hours. I was able to find out on the spot if I passed the hands on section of the test, which I did! I then took the written exam. The written exam is also made up of seven sections. To pass the exam I need to score no less then 60% on any section, and at least 70% overall. The written exam was easier then I thought it would be. I finished the test with a lot of confidence. I will find out in about a week if I passed the written exam.
