#16

I spent the day in the office learning the administration end of PSI. The administration side of the business is an entirely separate beast! A lot goes on behind the curtain of the company.  I was introduced to scheduling, billing, and filling. The scheduling process is very complex and takes a lot of organization. The contractors call in through out the day, and tell what they need inspected for the next day(concrete sampling, Density test, footing inspection, rebar inspection ect). At the end of the day the office manager assigns a field technician to the job sites. The billing is done like many companies. An invoice is sent out to the client with a breakdown of costs. Filing is a none stop job that never ends! The company has a large paper trail that it needs to maintain and keep organized. Each job has its own file that has everything related to the job in it. The administration end of the business is a necessity for the company to function smoothly, and the office manager does a great job of it.
